Law 9-216, the “Investment Advisers Act of 1992,” was introduced in Council and assigned Bill No. 9-495, which was referred to the Committee on Public Services. The Bill was adopted on first and second readings on November 4, 1992, and December 1, 1992, respectively. Signed by the Mayor on December 21, 1992, it was assigned Act No. 9-345 and transmitted to both Houses of Congress for its review. D.C. Law 9-216 became effective on March 17, 1993.
