Law 9-193, the “Fraternal Benefit Association Beneficiaries Designation Amendment Act of 1992,” was introduced in Council and assigned Bill No. 9-444, which was referred to the Committee on Consumer and Regulatory Affairs. The Bill was adopted on first and second readings on October 6, 1992, and November 4, 1992, respectively. Signed by the Mayor on November 23, 1992, it was assigned Act No. 9-314 and transmitted to both Houses of Congress for its review. D.C. Law 9-193 became effective on March 16, 1993.
