Law 9-136, the “District of Columbia Procurement Practices Act of 1985 Council Contract Approval Procedures Amendment Act of 1992,” was introduced in Council and assigned Bill No. 9-312, which was referred to the Committee on Government Operations. The Bill was adopted on first and second readings on April 7, 1992, and May 6, 1992, respectively. Vetoed by the Mayor on May 22, 1992, and overridden by Council on June 2, 1992, it was assigned Act No. 9-222 and transmitted to both Houses of Congress for its review. D.C. Law 9-136 became effective on July 28, 1992.
