Law 20-141, the “Residential Real Property Equity and Transparency Act of 2014,” was introduced in Council and assigned Bill No. 20-23. The Bill was adopted on first and second readings on April 8, 2014, and May 6, 2014, respectively. Signed by the Mayor on July 15, 2014, it was assigned Act No. 20-378 and transmitted to Congress for its review. D.C. Law 20-141 became effective on Dec. 4, 2014, but was repealed prior to its effective date by § 7114 of emergency D.C. Act 20-377, effective July 14, 2014, by § 7104 of emergency D.C. Act 20-449, effective Oct. 10, 2014, by § 7104 of emergency D.C. Act 20-566, effective Jan. 9, 2015, and by D.C. Law 20-155, § 7104, effective Feb. 26, 2015.
