Law 17-319, the “Abatement of Nuisance Properties and Tenant Receivership Amendment Act of 2008,” was introduced in the Council on April 21, 2008, assigned Bill No. 17-729, and referred to the Committee on Public Services and Consumer Affairs. The Bill was adopted on first and second readings on November 18, 2008, and December 2, 2008, respectively. After mayoral review, it was assigned Act No. 17-623 on December 22, 2008, and transmitted to Congress for its review. D.C. Law 17-319 became effective March 21, 2009.
