D.C. Act 24-596. Kenilworth Courts Official Street Designation Emergency Act of 2022.

AN ACT

To designate, on an emergency basis, the street in Square 5116 between 45th Street, N.E., and Kenilworth Avenue, N.E., as Amin Muslim Street, N.E., and the street in Square 5116 between Quarles Street, N.E., and Amin Muslim Street, N.E., as Denise Stanley Street.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this act may be cited as the "Kenilworth Courts Official Street Designation Emergency Act of 2022".

Sec. 2. Pursuant to sections 401 and 402(4), and notwithstanding section 421, of the Street and Alley Closing and Acquisition Procedures Act of 1982, effective March 10, 1983 (D.C. Law 4-201; D.C. Official Code §§ 9-204.01, 9-204.02(4), and 9-204.21), the Council designates two streets in Square 5116 as follows:

(a) The street between 45th Street, N.E. and Kenilworth Avenue, N.E., as depicted in the plat in the committee report for the Kenilworth Courts Official Street Designation Act of 2022, passed on 2nd reading on October 4, 2022 (Enrolled version of Bill 24-436), is designated as "Amin Muslim Street, N.E."

(b) The street between Quarles Street, N.E., and Amin Muslim Street, N.E., as depicted in the plat in the committee report for the Kenilworth Courts Official Street Designation Act of 2022, passed on 2nd reading on October 4, 2022 (Enrolled version of Bill 24-436), is designated as "Denise Stanley Street, N.E.".

Sec. 3. Fiscal impact statement.

The Council adopts the fiscal impact statement in the committee report for the Kenilworth Courts Official Street Designation Act of 2022, passed on 2nd reading on October 4, 2022 (Enrolled version of Bill 24-436), as the fiscal impact statement required by section 4a of the General Legislative Procedures Act of 1975, approved October 16, 2006 (120 Stat. 2038; D.C. Official Code § 1-301.47a).

Sec. 4. Effective date.

This act shall take effect following approval by the Mayor (or in the event of veto by the Mayor, action by the Council to override the veto), and shall remain in effect for no longer than 90 days, as provided for emergency acts of the Council of the District of Columbia in section 412(a) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, approved December 24, 1973 (87 Stat. 788; D.C. Official Code § 1-204.12(a)).
